Life On The Road As told to MaggieMay Shawn Beaulieu worked for the Moody Blues as a lighting technician, responsible for the video backdrops. He was a sweetheart of guy, friendly and easy to get along with, but being on tour can make people crazy, living on top of one another, as it were, 24 hours a day. Shawn had a red fleece pullover jacket with a half-zip which he wore constantly. It seemed to the rest of the crew that Shawn was becoming a bit strange and obsessed with the jacket he called his "Warmie". "Oh, my Warmie is so warm", he said. "My Warmie is so red! My Warmie smells like home!" It was well into the tour, and Shawn's chipper and happy comments were getting on the other crew members' nerves. One unnamed member of the Moodies crew finally snapped. He broke into Shawn's hotel room and stole Shawn's Warmie!! That evening after the gig, Shawn went into the restroom on the tour bus, and discovered a ransom note taped to the back of the door: $500 in unmarked bills or the Warmie gets it! Though Shawn left the unmarked (fake) bills at the rendezvous, his Warmie, sadly, was not returned. A number of other notes and photos were found as the tour continued on, but Shawn had no idea who had taken it, and no idea where it was. Finally, at the last concert at Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, the mystery was solved. Or was it? Another anonymous crew member (who swears HE did not steal the Warmie) had made a slideshow, and during intermission, the video screen behind the stage suddenly flashed bright red, followed by photo after photo of possible Warmie-nappers. Clearly, suspicion was no longer confined to the crew, but had spread to include the entire band! Though Shawn still hadn't gotten his beloved Warmie back by concert's end, he wasn't unhappy. "My Warmie is FAMOUS!" he beamed. Watch the slideshow below, then pick your suspect. WE have no idea who has Shawn's Warmie, but one Sojourn staffer said, "Hands down, it's Justin Hayward. Look at the way he's HOLDING that thing".
