The
competition was anything but fierce, with lots of teasing from John, chatting
among friends, and photo-taking galore.
This
avid golfer nailed her first putt.

While
Maggie and I waited our turns to talk to John, we had an interesting and
fun chat with Kristian. Though we covered several topics, the conversation
ended with us encouraging him (well, more like daring him) to get onstage
with the band and have a go at singing Ray's parts. He seemed to
think that was hilarious, but hey, we think he should at least try!

Wouldn't
you know...after taking about 7 or 8 pictures, I noticed the battery on
my camera was almost dead. So, I had to turn it off to save power
for the most important shots of MY day.
After
the "tournament", which was won by the youngest JL.com member, a sweet
little lady named Kerry, John took time to sign something for each guest,
pose for photos, and present each competitor with a special souvenir golf
ball.

Since
most of the members were lined up to putt on the "green" John was using,
I went to the other one and finished off my own qualifier in one shot.
Of course, John didn't see it, so took several opportunities to say, "You
haven't putted!" At first I protested, then just finally started
saying, "I know!"
Just
before Maggie snapped this shot, he took one last try and said, "You didn't
putt!" This time I said, "Leave me alone, or I'm not gonna let you
sign this!" ;-)

I
asked John to sign one of my concert photos of him. He did, then
took a good look at the pic and said, "Wow, that's great! Where was
it taken?" My reply was, "I have no idea! When you go to every
show on every tour, they sort of run together." His laughing response:
"Don't I know it!"
