When I stopped touring after the fall of 2005, I knew I'd need something to keep me busy and happy off the road. I found it!

I bought my house in the fall of 1993, and one of the first things I did was add a deck - a deck I seldom used, because shortly after that I discovered the joys of being on tour. Besides hardly ever being home, the reality is that touring is very expensive. So, even when I did find time to sit outside there was nothing to look at, except my neighbors, a garage that needed painting, and a lot of grass that usually needed mowing.

After a year of moping about, I decided on a plan of action and it began in the early spring of 2007. It came together in a fairly short period of time, thanks to my kids, their spouses, and my grandsons.

The photos are some of my favorites from the last 3 summers.

The Pond
It evolves from month to month
Creatures
God's creatures, great and small
Birds
I never knew how much fun they could be until I built a pond
Butterflies
And a few homely moths
Yard "Art"
Nothing fancy, but lots of fun
Hummingbirds
Hang a feeder and they will come

Waterlilies
I could double the size of my pond, and still not have enough room
for all the lily varieties I want
